Free Fishing Day Guide for 2018

Looking for a chance to go fishing, or take someone fishing without having to buy a fishing license? Here is a Free Fishing Day guide for 2018 listed by State. This is a perfect chance to take someone (or yourself) fishing, and they won’t need a fishing license on these days. If you are taking a kid fishing, chances are they don’t need a license anyway, depending on their age. Check your State’s rules for further information on age requirements, freshwater vs. saltwater fishing, catch and release fishing, fishing on private property, daily limits, and length limits.  Some States have special deals for seniors, disabled persons and veterans year round, so keep that in mind. Safe River Levels for Boating

Safe River Levels for Boating and Fishing I thought it would be a good idea to put a small guide together that shows the reliable running river levels at various points in the river. It is important for all to understand that these are the levels that some of us employ when boating the river. The actual ranges that just about any particular person will use to safely navigate, could be different, based upon on the type of boat you’ve got, your experience level, the weather conditions and your ability to understand the water. A New Mindset, River Largemouth’s

Most people think about catching smallmouth bass when they are fishing the Susquehanna River, but I have been experiencing more and more largemouth bass on many areas of the river. You’ll find most of them in the pool areas of the river such as the lower end of Goldsboro and the Long Level area. Power Team LuresSerious Baits for Serious Fishermen

Bob Bernotsky is very familiar with PowerTeam Lures and how effective they can be for catching bass, especially big bass. That is no surprise seeing that he is the bait designer and owner of this new and upcoming lure company. These baits are unique and loaded with scent which is evident the moment that you open a pack of them. Bob and his wife Katie run the day-to-day operations of PowerTeam Lures and they joke that the name came from the fact that together, they were exactly that, a Power Team. I couldn’t agree more as they have been growing by leaps and bounds this year. At the rate they are going, I am sure this company will be one of the biggest soft plastics

Pro Staff Tournament Memories

Susquehanna Fishing Tackle has a (very informal) Pro Staff tournament each year after the show season and final Cabin Fever Sale. It is a time when everyone is ready to relax and have a fun day of fishing after a grueling winter of shows and cold weather. It is time again for this annual tournament (and I use the word tournament very loosely). So I got to thinking that last year I took some video at the tournament, and seeing that we won (and I use the word “won” very loosely) I thought it would be fun to put a little bit of it together and post it. We caught most of our fish on jerkbaits and tubes.  Jerkbaits during the first half of the
